Mirabai Chanu , a native of Manipur,s capital city Impal , was born on august 8 , 1994 , in impal . she is 26 years old . she won her first gold medal in a local weightlifting competition when she was only 11 years old . later , she began her international weightlifting career by competing in the world and Asian junior championship , where she won medals in both . Her real name is saikhom mirabai Chanu .

Mirabai Chanu first demonstrated her potential on the international stage when she earned a silver medal in the 48 kg category at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow , Scotland at the age of 20 .
Mirabai Chanu won the gold medal at the world weightlifting Championship in Anahiem. , USA , in 2017 . She became the first Indian Weight lifter to achieve in over two decades .
