Pichai Sundararajan commonly known as Sundar Pichai Indian origin American Business executive. He is the CEO (chief executive officer) of Google and Alphabet Inc. (Parent company of google).
Sundar Pichai is born and raised in madras (now Chennai). He was born on June 10, 1972.
He did his schooling in Chennai. He studied in Jawahar Vidyalaya Senior Secondary School, a Central Board of Secondary Education school in Ashok Nagar, Chennai and completed the Class XII from Vana Vani school at IIT Madras. and after that he joined Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He did his Btech from IIT Kharagpur in metallurgical engineering. After his graduation, he secured a scholarship and moved to united states, there he attained an M.S. from Stanford university in material science and engineering and after his M.S., he also further attained an MBA from the Wharton school of the university of Pennsylvania.
Before joining google, Pichai worked in engineering and product management at Applied Materials and in management consulting at McKinsey & Company.
Sundar Pichai joined google in 2004 where he led the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google’s client software products.
He played a major role in the development of many products of google such as:
- Google Chrome
- Chrome OS
- Google Drive
- Gmail
- Google Maps
- Google Translate
In 2013, Sundar Pichai added Android to the list of google products he oversaw.
On August 10, 2015, Sundar Pichai was selected to become the next CEO of Google After Larry Page stepped down from the post of CEO.
In December 2019, Sundar Pichai also became to CEO of Alphabet Inc. (parent company of google).
According to reports, Sundar Pichai was Offered a high post in twitter and was also offered to be the CEO of Microsoft but somehow Google managed to convince him to stay at google with their offers.
on December 19, 2003, Sundar Pichai married Anjali Pichai. He has two children, daughters named, Isha Pichai (born 2008) and son named, Agastya Pichai (born 2012).
In 2022, Sundar Pichai received Padma Bhushan from Government of India which is the third Highest civilian award.
He also interested in sports particularly Cricket and Football. his favorite football team is FC Barcelona.
He has also delivered many speeches at different platforms all across the world.
